So here is the gaming site as it started out this photo was taken back in September.  You're seeing the outside of what will soon be the game room.  Its about 16' wide and 25' or so feet long on the inside.  IF you think you see some unlevel things here - well you do.  Lots of issues under the skin, but then when I am 150+ years old I imagine I will have lots of issues too!!

The pitch down was due to a severely rotted sill, which had to be replaced; that happened back in July...

Heres a look at the inside, sorry poor photos, too many shadows but you can see in the first photo the old west wall with a closed up window, and following that the old north wall, which was built on inadequate design and had begun to rot.  (The black stuff) and NO we do not use the M word in relation to that black stuff.... thats a bad word.  And none of my helpers have gotten any infections or diseases from the dust....  apparently they were old enough to have been vaccinated vs. Smallpox... wink

Here is the north wall....

see the black junk, rotttt wonderful rot, lovely rot, wonderful rot.....

Heres the new sill, and no we do not use words like LEVEL, PLUMB, or SQUARE in this gamespace.  Straight, maybe, flat perhaps...  thanks to the crazies who worked in the rain and hot to get the pads poured and sill set.

So then we pulled out the entire north wall, thanks to Rev. Stinson and his Jeep 'Big Dog' and its winch.  No no pictures of it, but just imagine a couple of mainers hacking away at a wall with Sawsalls, and one says " Hey I got a 5 ton winch on the Jeep..?"  Theres a moment of funny looks at each other and then the winch cable gets pulled out.

In the end the new wall (which went up same day) looks like this:

from the outside

and the inside

So you can see new floor, all new electrical and sheathing.  So that's the most recent photo.  I'll take some more tomorrow in-between the big snow events.

At this point insulation is going in and the door is now hung.  Windows next.  Then things will fly.
