Inserting image links rather than attaching photos

Okay, here are some basic instructions for inserting image links for photos rather than using the attach file function.  Attachments tend to be slow and many people will leave the thread rather than wait for your photo attachments to load.  Image links are small, fast, and easy, and your fellow forum members will appreciate your using them.  These instructions are pretty much the same all over the web for message boards and forums, so you can use them for more than just this MHWA forum.

Go to :  www.imageshack.com

Browse your computer (using the Browse button on the upper right side of the web page) to find the file you wish to upload

Click the button to resize the image and select 640x480 for message boards from the drop-down list

Click Start Upload

Once the upload is complete the screen will refresh, providing you with web links, one of which will be called a Direct Link.  Copy this link.

In the new forum post (here on the forum) click the Insert Image button and paste the direct link into the field, then click the green Insert Image button.

That is all there is to it.
