FOW at 3 Geek Gamers
We will be putting a 15mm FOW game at 3 Geek Gamers in Bangor (in small strip mall diagonally across from the mall entrance, next to Blockbuster). This will be the 2nd SS vs the 2nd Armor during the Normandy Campaign. Game starts at Noon on Saturday, January 30th.
Go, Bill! You guys are awesome, putting games out there for folks to play.
I talked to Nick today. He is one of the owner/operators. He said he has had a lot of interest and is expecting a good turnout. He was very open to the idea of carrying some historical stuff if we can get some interest going. So maybe we will have a shop in Bangor carrying historicals again.
I'll definitely, barring a blizzard, get down and drop in.Quite convenient to the other post I just made. Of course that's where I bought the 50% off FOW last summer. They had that one good turnstile rack of what could be considered WW2 historicals. Got a nice sculpting tool set cheap too. Man, on the whole that stuff is really expensive!
Thats the worst part of it. I dont mind the books so much as they have a lot of information condensed in them (although some of the soft bound have fallen apart already and I had to have them spiral bound. Actually I like that better as they lie flat when open). But $75 for their latest offering, 5 Jadgpanthers seems a little hight. Especially when I can buy 3 metal ones from Old Glory for like $15.
Anyway I look forward to seeing you the 30th at 3G. It should be fun. And thanks for anything you can spare for the kids. Besides Belfast I want to try and start a 4-H club and a club at Hermon High. Anything is greatly appreciated.
Dont forget the game this Saturday. The 2nd Armor runs into the 2nd SS at Percy during the Cobra breakout.
Was down the other day getting oil changed in my son's car and left a box for you in care of the 'GEEKS'.
Thanks a lot for the contribution to the club starter pack project. Too bad you cant make the game saturday. Take care.

I only got aa few pictures of the start of the game saturday as I couldnt stay very long. But the boys tell me it went well with about a dozen people playing and a lot of interest. 3GG want us to come back and do it again. They also put up a HUZZAH! and an LHMG flyer for us in the store.
The battle ended up being a melee in the town. The Americans got one Mark IV at the start of the game with the P-47 but that was it. The Panzer grenadiers got into the town along with the Tigers but couldnt get out. The Shermans came down the road and went left around the town bottling them up. Then they brought on there Priests and smashed up the infantry in the town pretty well. The Germans brought up a platoon of Mark IV's from the SW but the shermans that skirted the town to the left smashed them as they tried to get into town. Meanwhile the German Stug G platoon circled off to the American right flank and went after the Priests in the Bocage.
The game ended as a draw as neither side was able to get any platoons off the board. The Americans came on at the NE corner and needed to exit the SW corner for points. The Germans came on the W edge of the board (determined by die roll) and needed to exit the SE corner. Also pointss were awarded for platoons destroyed. No one was able to wipe out any platoons so it ended a 0-0 tie.
Correction. The Americans destroyed the Mark IV platoon. I misunderstood what my son told me earlier. So the Americans won a marginal victory 0-1.

Banuch,
Thanks for the stuff. Thats great. I will add it to the stuff for The Game Loft starter set. They have been really excited by FOW. Ray said it was the first historicals they have shown any interest in. Thanks again. Take care.
