We played a game of 10mm ACW tonight using the Black Powder rules. It was a scenario loosely based on the wheatfield at Gettysburg. Tonight was our first time playing with these rules but it went smoothly.I will post some more details about it after we have gotten the feel for them, but so far I'm very impressed. Detailed enough to be realistic yet still fast paced and fun. Has anyone else played anything using this system/ I know it covers a very broad range of history and is basic enough that you can use it with pretty much any period prior to WWI. I was just curious if anyone was familiar with the system and if they have any opinion regarding it. -Mark

Mark - I am very interested in your experiences with the Black Powder rules.  I played an English Civil War game with a variant of these rules during Huzzah and my first thought was that they would be great for the American Civil War.  I have not played a game with the rules yet, but I did buy a copy and would be interested in hearing how they play out.

The rule designers are going to be hosting a Black Powder game at Historicon if anyone is interested.
