How many Vikings are needed for our raiding party?
We're working like Santa's Elves down here in NH and it occured to us we don't need all 70+ vikings for the game. So how many do we need to bring?
Somehow I cannot picture you as one of Santa's elves....

Were in NH are you from ? Our small group is in Hollis /Nashua Area.
I can only assume the extra figures we all got are going to be used for extra players at the con if not it be cool to only have to paint what we need.
We're in Fremont.
Got the email the other day detailing the breakdown here:
That article was very helpful.
Presumably the Saxon units are organized the same way as the Viking units, is that correct?
Morning folks,
Another question ... I noticed on the "Morale Classification" for the 4th article in Wargames Illustrated the following listing ...
0=Untrained Militia
1=Trained, average
3=Trained, veteran
4=Elite
However, under "Buying a Raiding Force", it gives an example of an "Elite" figure who is a Leader costs 9 points and says 3x3=9. So there seems to be a difference between this and the Morale Classification having one saying it costs 4 and the other 3, or am I misunderstanding this?
Gamespoet,
The morale classification (0-3) refers to the number of stripes on the individual figure's base indicating its morale level. The x3 multiplier you are referring to is because the figure is a leader. Leader figures should all be elite, or possibly veteran, but they would not have the lowest morale rating possible. What warrior would follow an untrained farmer into battle?
Does this clarify things for you?
Hi Jim,
It was easy to understand the part about Morale. Instead what I was confused on is why the article goes from 0 to 2 to 3 to 4, while the writing mentioned the elite being 3, and not 4.
It seems this might have even been cleared up in referencing the 3 mulitplier in your post as well, and this would mean the 4 in the article is a misprint. Hope my understanding is now correct.
Thanks for your help,
