Well done! Huzzah! 2011 is in the books
Good morning, MHWA.
What a great weekend for historical wargaming in New England. The overall selection and quality of games was terrific, and the quality of attendees even better. I rarely, maybe once, heard an angry tone of voice, which is quite something over the course of three full days of gaming. Several times people pulled me aside to say that they really enjoyed themselves and that they planned to return, that they were having fun.
It would not have been possible without the small army of volunteers, game masters, vendors, and sponsors who donated their time and effort, and money, to make the show a success. "Thank you," to each of you who worked so enthusiastically on the behalf of the convention and our hobby.
Let's hear it for another superb year. Three cheers for Huzzah! 2011.
HUZZAH! HUZZAH! HUZZAH!
Another fantastic convention -- two years running now!
HUZZAH!

Yes it was, but unfortunately my wife and her friend had a wonderful time as well shopping. They by themselves managed to keep the south Maine economy going. I now have to take a second job to pay for her purchases.
See you all next year
My thanks to everyone who put on such a great event and to those that ran all of the wonderful games.
I put up some photos at http://s905.photobucket.com/albums/ac259/tensixsix/Huzzah2011/ and will someday get around to putting some descriptions as i go.
Thanks again and I am looking forward to next year.

Hello, everyone. Here is a link to some of the photos from the weekend. These are a jumble but if time allows, I'll organize them. I kept the file sizes small but if you want the full image let me know and I can send it along.

Nice shots. I see you got a good shot of the back of my head in one of the pics.
Hey Dean, those look great! Thanks for posting those! there has actually been activity on the Southern Maine list so I liked it there as well. Great weekend, can't wait for next year!!!

This was my first Huzzah Con and my first historical gaming con. It was such a blast! I've done some coverage and promotion (check out Episode 54: Huzzah Con Prep) of it on my podcast, The CWF Game Cast (soon to be renamed Monty & The Fox's Wargaming Show), which is a weekly 1 hour long show with my co-host Tom Barbalet.
I put up a bunch of pics on our blog at Huzzah Con 2011 Photo Spread (caution almost 300 pics)
Tom and I also just finished recording a show doing wrap-up of my visit to the con. Hopefully people enjoy the pics, and my podcast, as much as I enjoyed being at the con. It was fantastic and my wife and I (we came for our 1 year wedding anniversary) can't wait to go next year!
Thanks,
Jonathan

Well shiver me timbers. I got a note from Yahoo! Groups from Southern Maine and assumed it was spam! :) Glad to know that you like the photos and that the group is alive and kicking. Hope you can get some games going again. Good luck!
Lol!!! Well my computer has been sending out some SPAM, but otherwise this has inspirered some activity on the Southern Maine group site, and Tony's back on the creation wheel so hopefully that equals some gaming and the revitalization of the group!!! Thanks again Dean!
Dave's SPAM keeps everyone's Yahoo Lists alive. I can be guaranteed when ever I see a post from any one of my yahoo Groups I'm part of ...it will be Dave's SPAM that sent us the new 'update'. :-P

Having 'fun' should be the primary focus, for sure. Thats kinda the whole point of the affair, is it not? I'm glad to hear folks were having fun. Granted, some of our games (and players) can get a bit, er, 'spirited' as these games sometimes are a bit competitive (while, amazingly, others simply are not) as well as frustration can build when rules, scenarios etc. are not agreed upon, and understandably 'blow up' from time to time. Glad to hear it was such a low-friction event over all. Most folks get plenty of that 'friction' in day to day life ... they certainly are looking to escape that when they go to a gaming convention for fun. Glad to hear HUZZAH! provided that reprieve for all this year.
