Huzzah! 2011 is done and a great time was held by all. Overall consensus was the second annual HUZZAH! was an outstanding success!

Each session in the main room had approximately ten games running and the tables looked great. The hard work and preparation really showed and all of the gamemasters should be proud.

The great gaming products and selections for sale brought by the vendors was well received and very much appreciated by all.

The Maine Historical Wargamers Association (MHWA) sponsored event, Viking Dawn, brought several New England Clubs together for a roaring two session game. Thanks to Chris Penny for once again stepping up and creating a wonderful table. I am sure there will be write up of this fantastic event by its proponents soon.

Each of the five gaming sessions had a winner of the HUZZAH! Battle Honours - Session Banner. The winners were;

Session 1, Earl R Richards - Havoc in the Woods
Session 2, Andrew Niven - CRETE MAY 20, 1941
Session 3, Jim - Sweep and Clear
Session 4, Billy DiGiulio - Remember the Alamo!
Session 5, Mike Paine - Zombie Revenge on the Road to Hanghai

The overall HUZZAH! 2001 Best of Show was awarded to Andrew Niven for his CRETE MAY 20, 1941 game. Way to go Andy!

Several great gaming clubs participated in and ran games at HUZZAH! 2011. Each club received points for the number of members, games and awards won and were eligible to win the HUZZAH! Helm sponsored by Shipyard Ale. Last year, four clubs participated in the event with Battlegroup Boston taking away the coveted prize. This year, seven clubs participated. The clubs (in alphabetical order) were:

The Barbarians
Boston Trained Bands
Battlegroup Boston
Canton Lunatic Society
Northern Conspiracy
Old Colony Gamers
Toy Soldier a.k.a. WHAC'M

This year's winner was Northern Conspiracy. They edged out the WHAC'M by one point and will take home the HUZZAH! Helm.

Congratulations Northern Conspiracy!

A new feature at HUZZAH! 2011 was for Board Gamers. The Rangley Room was used exclusively for them and used for several great tables of Advanced Squad Leader. It was nice to have a quieter area with less commotion for them.

The front table in the hotel atrium was used exclusively this year for the AREODROME games and the tournament on Sunday. This year's 'Knights in the Sky' AREODROME tourney run by Andre Kruppa with Jerry Corey was won by Eric Hatch.

A very special thanks to the Gamemasters, Vendors, and Attendees. You all deserve a great deal of praise and without you there wouldn't be a HUZZAH!

To the businesses and vendors who donated items to the several ticket auctions and prizes, your sponsorship is greatly appreciated and will insure future HUZZAH! conventions.

And finally to the wonderful Volunteers who worked so very hard on HUZZAH! 2011.

Mike Tribou, Chris Penney, Mikey, Tim Richter, Christopher Gurney, Wayne Warner , Billy DiGiulio, Bob Kane, Jim Flanagan, Andre Kruppa, Jim Hatch, Ken Eckhardt, Henry Coll, Andy Niven and Dean Emmerson and anyone else who chipped in when asked to help move a table, or shlep a box... they know who they are. Again, THANK YOU!

HUZZAH!

Nice job, Christopher!  Thanks for the AAR.  I'm glad someone was capturing all that information about who won what.

We should get at least a few of these photos up on the HUZZAH! website so folks can see what this group does on that site. Great looking stuff.

Here are a few sites where you can read or listen to what other people thought about Huzzah! 2011.

CWF Game Cast has a new podcast this week and towards the end of session Jonathan Reinhart talks about his planning to attend, what he signed up, etc.  I think there will be a post-Huzzah! podcast in the next week or two as well.

Thanks guys for linking to my podcast.  Next Monday my co-host, Tom, and I release our Huzzah Con Extravaganza After Action Report...hmm I may just give that name to the episode.  I hope people will like what they hear.

All I'm gonna say here is it takes a special type of con that gets my non-gamer wife to agree to go to the con for our 1st wedding anniversary and then agree to go back next year!

There's tons of beautiful pictures of the con in this thread.  If you'd like to take a peek at some of the shots I snagged you can see http://wargamingforums.com/2011/05/17/huzzah-con-2011-photo-spread/

I also have to give another plug to New England Grognards.  My friend Adrian owns that blog and he's the one who got me to come to Huzzah.
