What Are You Selling?

It is time to jump start some interest in the Flea Market which is just around the corner.  I thought some people might like to post items they are going to be selling.  I know that I am taking this opportunity to try and rationalize my collection a little bit.  To that end I have decided to divest myself of my 25mm Early Imperial Romans.  These are second geneartion Miniature Figurines circa 1990 so they are a little smaller than today's figures.  If anyone is interested this is a great way to jump into Ancients.  The figures are in three goups.

Group One:  A Basic Impetus Starter Army painted, based and flocked.  Approximtely 75 figures plus two artillery pieces - $150.00

Group Two:  A selction of painted figures mounted in a dozen different ways and in various states of repair (meaning some pilum have fallen off).  This includes 51 Infantry and 31 Cavalry figures along with 1 artillery piece and crew.  - $75.00

Group Three:  Bare metal set of 58 Cavalry, 43 Infantry and seven artillery peices with crew along with a miscellaneous assortment of shields, spears and other odd bits. - $75.00

I would like to sell the whole lot together for $300 and have priced it that way.

I'll be bringing all of my bits and pieces. There will be various quantities of 25mm medievals, 15mm WW2, 1/285 WW2, and an entire 15mm AWI army priced to go! I will also be selling several terrain pieces done in plastic both finished and unfinished. I hope to have the first few pieces of the 28mm castle I'm building and selling in large kits for display.

I will also be demonstrating the ease of using my terrain accessories to build your own projects.

I look forward to seeing you at the show!

I will be bringing a quantity of 1/72 WW1 aircraft kits.  Also some Minifigs 15mm WW1 figures.  All unpainted and still in blisters.  I will have various unpainted miniatures, mostly 15mm but some 25s.  I have some 1/285 modern micro armor that needs a home. (and sorting).  I still need to go through the boxes in the basement for an exact list of items I will part with.

I know I have some board games that will be for sale.  Maybe a few books.  If anybody is into fantasy and sci fi I can bring an assortment of figures for those genres.  Nothing spectacular but this is a flea market after all.

Speaking of flea markets, my items will be flea market priced.  I've hauled this stuff all over America and have stored them for years.  Obviously, the projects never came to fruition.  I will also consider trades for items I know I will use.

I think I'm going to have to put together a more detailed list sometime this week.

Ken

Which Colonial rules are you bringing?

I'll have a few -

Flagship Games: Rampant Colonialism Rules

Code: SCMFGRC
Manufacturer: Scale Creep Miniatures

SRP: $25.00

Description:
Colonial Warfare at its Best!

Rampant Colonialism! (RC! for short) was designed to allow you, the wargamer, to recreate colonial engagements both real and fictional with miniature figures. While these rules were written with 15mm figures in mind, there are just as well used with 20mm and 25mm figures. The period covered by these rules includes the French and Indian Wars through the late 19th Century, and even beyond into the early 20th Century for such conflicts as the Boxer Rebellion, and the African and Middle Eastern theaters of World War I.

As with all of our rules, the focus is on fast, fun game play. We have striven to have realism without bogging the game down with too many rules, the "feel" of play being more important than burdensome mechanics. And our familiar, easy-to-find-and-read charts help speed up game play.

When first written, RC! was intended to be a one-figure-equals-one-man kind of game. As time went on, however, it was discoverd that all it takes is a little imagination to recreat larger engagements with a larger figure sacle. For example, the rule book contains a scenario for refighting Rorke's Drift at a 1:3 scale. This is still suitable for an exciting "grand skirmish" level game, and allows one to recreate the battle without having to have 1000+ figures. Even larger scale battles, such as 1:20, can be recreated. All it takes is a little imagination and the RC! rules!

Playing Rampant Colonialism

Rampant Colonialism can be played with two or more players, and in fact makes a great multi-player game. Each side is organized into a number of units, and optional command and control rules have been provided to maintain a chain of command for issuing and receiving orders. Individual models are also used, and include officers/leaders, NCO's, sharp shooters and heroic individuals. During a turn, a unit may move, fire and/or engage in melee with the enemy. All combat is resolved with the use of a ten-sided die.

The weapon chart covers everything from black powder muzzle-loaders through magazine-fed rifles using smokeless powder. There are also rules for cannon (both muzzle and breach loading) and machine guns.

A typical game of Rampant Colonialism pits a colonial force, such as those of Britain or France, against a horde of natives, whether they be Zulus, Pathans, Boxers, etc. However, the fun doesn't have to stop there! These rules will also work for playing engagements which were part of the larger conflicts of the period, and you will even find they work when two "civilized", or European-styled armies, fight against one another. A good example of this would be the American War of Independence, the army lists for which will soon be available on this web page!

The lists in the book include:

* The French & Indian Wars.
* The Asante War, 1874.
* Second Afghan War, 1879.
* Zulu War, 1879.
* First Boer War, 1881.
* Sudan, 1885.
* Boxer Rebellion, 1900.
* WWI in the Middle East and Africa, 1914-1918.

Best of all, the rules are simple, and they play quickly. If playing Rampant Colonialism doesn't cut down on the "rules lawyering" syndrome in your gaming group, we'll eat our pith helmets!

Colonial Adventures

Code: THW1031
Manufacturer: Two Hour Wargames

SRP: $15.00

Description:
Colonial Adventures

Zanzibar!

Just saying the word makes you think of far off places and high adventure. Okay, maybe not so much if you’re a Poor Bloody Infantryman but for an Officer and a Gentleman the “Age of Imperialism” (1850 – 1914) was the best of times.
A time where young men could garner fame and fortune in dark and dangerous lands. A time where heroes could be made in a day. And a time where death could come swiftly and from unexpected places.

Colonial Adventures allows you to recreate these “dirty little wars” of European expansion on the tabletop. Refight the heroic stand at Rourke’s Drift or try and change the result at Isandhlwana. But it isn’t just about the British and Zulus. It’s also about the French Foreign Legion, Berber horsemen, Imperial German forces, Masai warriors, the Russian army, Pathan tribesmen, and much more.

Whether you’re an experienced Colonials player or a novice just starting the period, Colonial Adventures is right for you. Here’s just a few reasons why.

In the book you’ll find over a dozen armies to choose from and another twenty online.

We’ve included “open ended” scenarios to fight new and unique battles every time you use them.

You can play solo, all on the same side against the game, or head to head.

We provide online support to answer any questions you may have as they come up and usually in less than 24 hours.

So have a seat, grab a spot of tea, and get ready for hours of fun. Welcome to the world of …

Colonial Adventures!

Cheers Gordon

Both systems rock, Im undecided which one to use for a "Battle of the Bees" game Im doing, so Im hosting two trial games of the same mission  using each set of rules once, hoping the players can give enought feed back on which one to use, One set uses a D10 (Rampant Colonialism) and Colonial Adventures uses a D6 other than that they are both pretty cool rule sets that have a certian "flavor of the time" build into the game play, again thier both so good I cant decide which one I like more!monkey
