Gladiators at Game Day?

Hi, folks.

If anyone is interested in helping to organize some gladiator games for the October 15th Game Day, let me know.  I have two sets of rules (Mortituri Te Salutant and Habet Hoc Habet), a dozen or so gladiators, and a hex mat.  I know that some of you out there have arenas.  Shuster, Paquette and Daddy Boynton have run gladiators for us in the past but its a distant memory.

Any interest?  I thought this might be a good chance to set up a game or two for people to check it out.  This would not even have to be a full session of gaming, but could be something we play around the breaks, after a game ends, etc.  If people like it, we could discuss the possibility of running it at Huzzah! as an ongoing event, in which clubs compete against one another.

Dean has a great point here.  Gladiators have spurred a great deal of discussion here and an ongoing Gladiator Tournament (do I dare use that term?) would be a great thing for Huzzah beyond the other 'Club Game' - it has many advantages:  Small space requirement, completely customizable, some very good rules (I am lead to believe so anyway), perfect genre for club vs. club, and would not detract from a signature spotlight game....

All of these things apply to the October game day as well, gladiator combats could be happening all day long, at lunch, as games end a little early etc.

All we need is someone to step up and take it on...

Tim
