MHWA 2012 Membership drive
2012
Maine Historical Wargamers Association
Membership
Drive
Hi Everyone
With the new year its time again for
our annual membership drive. The winter game day is fast approaching
and work on Huzzah 2012 is picking up steam, membership dues play a
big part in funding these operations. One of the major changes this
year was our decision to make the Game days free to encourage more
participation this is to be offset by ticket auctions and dues.
So with that all in mind its time to
officially kick off the 2012 Membership drive.
The cost is $30.00 a year and payments
can be made as follows.
Checks, made out to MHWA and sent
to the club PO Box 157, Coopers Mills, ME 04341 -OR- PayPal to the
club account, mainewargamershq@gmail.com
.
What do you get with Membership? First
lets talk about what it doesn’t cover. The many hours of behind the
scenes volunteer work done by a number of folks on the game days,
Huzzah and the anchor game of Huzzah this years Boxer Summer. As
noted above the funds help support the venues and incidental costs of
the events. The true benefit is the gratitude of New England's past,
present and future historical gamers. Your support furthers our goal
of perpetuating something we all enjoy and hope to grow. Ours is a
small little known hobby, a niche several niches removed from the
obscure corner of miniature gamers. We are the ones who have the
most to gain by growing and supporting the hobby. In the end the more
folks we bring together the more opponents we all have across the table.
Thank You
Wayne Warner, President
Maine Historical Wargamers Association
Way to go Wayne. It is so important for people to understand how just a few dollars from each of us helps to keep this hobby of our alive and growing in the state of Maine. Huzzah!
Hi All
It looks like I did miss one other benefit to becoming a member.
Paid up members do get free entry to our convention Huzzah, decent Little perk I think.
See you all at Games day
Wayne
My dues are now paid,
Wayne, what say we challenge the board to all pay up by say March 1?
Tim
Thanks Tim, I'd say challenge is on with your post.......and as I just paid up I can join in.
Wayne
Just paid via Paypal.
Ken
Thank you Ken will you be able to join us on the 10th?
Wayne
Wayne,
I had intended to be there but I just found out that my son has his cub scout pine wood derby that day as well. Unless the cub scout event is postponed I will not be there.
I apologize.
Ken
No apology necessary just haven't seen you for awhile.
Wayne
Yes, I know all to well. I've been very frustrated of late with my lack of time to devote to the hobby.
Ken
Ken - I am very disappointed in you. Imagine, putting your children and their well-being ahead of the hobby. I am just at a loss for words.
Just sent my money via PayPal. Hoping to make it for GameDay on the 10th!
Christopher
Thank you Christopher, positive waves Moriarty we will see you see in Bath
Wayne
I don't see that part, Dean will know though.
Wayne
Slow but steady at the moment! Things usually pick up in the days leading up to the first game day.
So it seems that when you hit 50 your mind tends to slip. Instead of my son's cub scout event being on 10th at 3 o'clock, it seems it's on the 3rd at 10 o'clock. So that means if I can arrange some day care for him I should be able to make it to the Game Day....On the 10th right????
How I ever managed to get this far in life is beyond me.
Ken
